Martine Véniat Biography
Biot is my village, for me there is nothing else that matters more than Biot.
Everything I've done in my life is for Biot. My father fought in the Indochina War, we were born during his military service. Then he made Morocco and we joined him in 1954 with my brothers René, Lupi and my sister Marie-thé. He became seriously ill and we rushed back to Biot. We all know Biot, but the real story everyone doesn't know, that's why I decided to work at the Biot Museum and I joined an electoral list on the condition that I take care of the heritage. In 2001 in the elections (Operto and Boucand list) Mr. Boucand was elected and I was in opposition but I participated in Tourism and Heritage. Then in the next elections being on the list in JPierre Dermit I had a great time looking after early childhood and heritage. I retired when G.Debras was elected on health issues. I like to live in Biot, every morning I walk my little dog, Biot is my DNA. My health problems may force me to look for a single-storey house because I live in an old biotoise house with several levels. At that time St Julien's lasted 4 days: We were bridesmaids for St Julien's for years, we had the cockroach, we were proud. With Robert Cassella (SAM) we played the game of jam. There were the Balettis, the track was made of wood, so we scratched the candles so it would slide better. We lived on fishmonger's street, it was the most beautiful street in the village, where there were all the young people our age. We even had Johnny Halliday at Biot - Martine sings: "All around us, people are jealous, la la la la la ... » BUT FOR ME BIOT WILL ALWAYS BIOT
