Forty years separate the current creations of Claude Pelletier and the date of his meeting with the Swedish artist Torun. This is a whole life dedicated to creation, which goes through decades as varied as that of the 70s, dedicated to rigor, to ecology, but also to confused experiences, that of the 80s marked by theatricality appearances, needs for references to heritage, and that of the more eclectic 90s.
The work of jeweller Claude Pelletier reflects perfectly the contradictions of these trends. His work are in keeping with the times, connecting the jewel - too often ignored - to other disciplines, making it an object worthy of claiming an artistic status.
In 1964, he participated in the creation of the House of Crafts of French Art initiated by Jacques Anquetil, association of which he becomes the administrator. At the same time, bound by an exclusive contract, he creates three times a year, from 1964 to 1974, the collections Fabrice, Jackie Riss' trademark. These creations are presented rue Bonaparte, in Paris. Claude Pelletier also designs models for Omega, Zolotas, he makes accessories for Guy Laroche, clasp bags, belt buckles, silver fibula enamel decoration, all unique pieces. From 1977, he worked as a designer for houses like Caplain Saint André, Spador, Christofle, for Cartier's "S" collection ...
"Life is nourished and enriched by new encounters, which are largely responsible for my creation," he likes to recognize.
Claude Pelletier also works with other artists from Biot and the surrounding area, at Boutique "La Créative", located on Church Square in Biot. Twenty-seven artists from the 'Cities and Crafts' of the region present their unique pieces.
