Painter and sculptor from Biot
Born in Nice in 1986 and graduated from the decorative arts of Strasbourg in 2012, Aurore Lanteri returned in 2013 to Biot to settle in her studio. In the first times her work has been essentially pictorial, finding in the beeswax the support material to a vast field of exploration. Then, thanks to this wax whose body largely exceeds the surface of the canvas, the sculpture imposed itself. This new arrangement responds to the desire to understand and master form in space, and offers a new approach to polychromy, perceived not as scenery, but as a search for character. To these mediums can be added practice of drawing, creation of textile pieces and creation of ceramic pieces.
Gravitating in the field of figuration, Aurore questions the Human. She passes on flame and claps her endearing weaknesses and dubious grandeur, with the desperate hope of breaking through its secret. It is this thing so clear and so obscure that man keeps in the depths of their eye that attracts her, every work is decided in this sense, in the sense of inexplicable, love and trouble, and come what may.
