Glassblower from Biot who also exhibits contemporary works in Pierini showroom
Guided by Jean-Claude Novaro and Michèle Luzoro, Nicolas Laty uses the techniques of blown glass, cold work and glass torch, and became known in 2002 at the exhibition "Venezia Vetro" at the Rosella Junck Gallery, Venice. He returned in 2018 by presenting an installation at the famous Berengo Foundation on the island of Murano alongside some of the biggest names in contemporary glass.
Nicolas makes his creatures evolve in a setting where glass combines with woods, minerals, stainless steel and silicone to create extravagant fish, totems or centipedes ... The technical precision and the sculptural quality of his works bring him today to share his knowledge during master classes.
His works remind us of our childhood and lead us into a fantastic universe; while revealing their personality as living beings, they display vibrant, dazzling, even caricatured colors, and travel around the world through the exhibitions organized by the galleries that represent him.
