They work in porcelain and earthenware with subtle finesse, and their creativity knows no bounds.
Perrine Chevallet, who grew up in Biot, creates delicate, poetic works that are both tableware and invitations to travel. She uses porcelain, so pure and delicate, that she fell in love with it at first sight.
Marie-France Lesné has set up her workshop in Clans. It was in front of the pebbles on the beaches of Nice, over thirty years ago, that it all clicked for her. Since then, Marie-France has tamed the clay with patience and precision. She adopts the colombin technique to create complex earthenware pieces with improbable balances to create organic, natural shapes devoid of artifice.
Josée Quellier, who trained at the Manufacture de Sèvres and lives in La Ciotat, transports us into her world of earth and sea, animals and plants, inspired by her travels and encounters. Her porcelain work is meticulous, chiselled and poetic. She creates objects and jewellery reminiscent of the seabed and Mediterranean flora.
What these three artists have in common is the purity, finesse and precision of their work, but each of their works reflects their own personality, originality and talent.
