Tines Gate (1565)

14, rue des Tines
06410 Biot

04 93 65 78 00

  • In the village
  • Tines Gate, built in 1565, still has hinges sealed in the pillars, each pierced with a hole that was used to house the end of the bar closing the door.

Located on Tines Street, this door is integrated into an urban ensemble, consisting of a tower that has the great particularity of being square and a laundry served by streets that converge on a small urban space planted.

A little less well preserved than the Migraniers Gate, the Tines Gate has the same architectural characteristics, the apparatus of the semicircular arc being coarser and the mortar more degraded. The hinges holding the door are still preserved. Unlike on Migraniers Gate, the walkway does not pass on the gate.
