Macarons Trail

Departure: At Panel , "Tamarins Bridge" (Pont des Tamarins).

Road access:

From Biot, take road D4 towards Valbonne. 200m after Carrefour du Chemin des Soulières (which is opposite Auberge de la Vallée Verte on the D4), turn left on Avenue des Fauvettes which plunges down. 100m, on the left, take Route de l'Agasse as you descend to the bottom of Tamarins Bridge. The tour begins at Panel, "Tamarins Bridge". Follow the direction "Valbonne". You then enter the beautiful path along the Brague towards Valbonne. You arrive after a nice walk under the road bridge over which passes the "Route des Macarons".

Just after the road bridge, you will discover the old mule bridge called "Pont de la Verrière". Continue the path along the Brague to the confluence with the Bruguet.

You are in front of Panel, "The Bruguet" (45 minutes). Follow the direction "Montée des Crêtes" by taking on the left the path of Valley of Bruguet.

After a few steep steps, the trail continues up to Panel , "Montée des Crêtes" (50mn). Follow the direction "Route des Crêtes" by taking the left path towards East which rises in laces. At a bifurcation of trails, stay on your right.

Still climbing, you arrive at Panel , "Route des Crêtes", (1h). Follow the direction "Pont des Tamarins".

You enter to the left on a forest path where you will find pines and further oaks. Soon, the trail gets closer to the road, before they cross at "Carrefour des Crêtes", and continues in the middle of cedars and pines.

At the end of cedar plantations, at a first fork in the path, turn right; at the next two crossroads, keep to the left and continue on the path that leans south for about 300m then loops back north-east.

Keep right at the two crossings of successive close trails, then tilt south again and by a last loop, you reach road D604, "Route des Macarons".

Cross cautiously and you're at Panel No. , "Route des Macarons", (1h30). Follow the direction "Pont des Tamarins". Continue the path that begins below the road.

At the first crossroads, keep to the left on the lower path.

At a new crossing, stay right this time on the main upper trail that continues southeast. At future crossings of two trails, always keep to the right on the main trail. You'll arrive at a last crossing of three trails: choose the middle path that will take you to an asphalt track where you will find Panel , "Trail of the Tamarins", (1h50). Follow the direction "Tamarins Bridge" .

Turn left on the paved track and head down back to your starting point, Panel , "Tamarins Bridge", (1h55).
