Born in Biot, I have lived in the village practically all my life. From my childhood, I took part in the great festivals of the time, including the Grape, Mimosa and Pottery Festival, which brought thousands of visitors to Biot. I grew up, got married and throughout these years, I saw many great artists arrive such as Fernand Léger, Melano, the Brice family, the draughtsman R. Peynet, the jewellers C. Pelletier, Torun, D. Essayie... I witnessed the construction of the Fernand Léger museum, the creation of the Biot glassworks by the Monod family, and the establishment of the Sophia Antipolis technology park. I have seen Biot transform itself from a small village to a dynamic town. What makes the charm of our city, is that the village atmosphere still reigns and this thanks to the osmosis of a population which keeps this intergenerational link. I am particularly happy to have been in charge of the Comité des Fêtes from 2002 to 2008 and then to have taken over the Amicale Biotoise des Traditions in which we find the elders who pass on to us this love of traditions, sharing and conviviality. At present, the Association manages 6 festivals, including the Mimosa Festival in February, the Pilgrimage to La Garoupe in May, the Saint John's Fire, the Saint Julien Festival in August, the Harvest Festival in September and the Chestnut Festival. I hope that this will continue for a long time to come, for the pleasure of all the people of Biot as well as for the visitors who are very fond of this type of event. I particularly appreciate the contact with the people I meet during the organisation of these festival days and the life within the team of volunteers who work alongside me. I currently live outside the village, but I miss the contact and I feel the need to come and have a coffee and exchange a few words with the "locals". My greatest wish and happiness would be to end my life in the village.
