The Brague River path
"While working on this project, I understood the link between the ground and the landscape for the first time. I also discovered the connection between tuff, a mineral that takes thousands of years to develop, and the landscapes that make the village of Biot so beautiful. "
While my home is in Antibes, I’ve had ties to Biot through family since 1990
One of the accomplishments of the Heritage Group started in 2004 by the town was the creation of a discovery trail along the Brague River to highlight the territory’s botanical elements, wildlife and geology. The project had two parts: creating a marked trail along the Brague River and writing the accompanying documents. A brochure aimed at green tourists describes the principal assets of the Brague River.
What fascinates me about the landscapes of the Brague River are its tuff waterfalls. These limestone formations give a spectacular look to the cliffs of the river and create a specific environment, including ponds that allow a rich ecosystem of plants and animals to thrive. These bodies of water are true oases, a nursery for the ecosystem and especially for living organisms like amphibians and fish.
